Filtration upgrade in Sowerby Bridge

This is a before and after filtration upgrade for a customer in Sowerby Bridge . The borehole supplied the customer’s house as well as 5 stables.  In some cases we only treat the water going to the domestic property as there is no need to treat the water going to any animals on site but, in this case, the raw water was so bad, the treated water was being taken to all outlets.

Their raw water contained over 28,000ug/l of iron. The drinking water regulation limit for iron is 200ug/l meaning treatment was desperately needed.
The turbidity of the water was extremely high. This was most likely caused by the huge amounts of iron, particularly sedimental iron, in the water.  There were also elevated levels of manganese and bacteria which needed rectifying.

We attended site and installed water treatment to remove iron, manganese, sediment, bacteria and pH correction.

A 500L potable water storage tank was installed to give the customer immediate access to 500l of clean water – much needed when you have 5 thirsty horses on site!

We also installed a booster pump to give the customer a constant supply of high pressure water.

Existing valves on site were upgraded to give the customer the ability to see their water usage through the system. The new valves offer a more user friendly experience and will show a red screen in the event of an error.

Since installing the new, upgraded, equipment they customer has experienced no issues with their supply.
