A brief description
Filtration System to reduce Flouride in Leyburn, North Yorkshire.
Full description
This customer had a system installed by Prosep Filter Services (click here to view the Case Study). This system was originally installed to reduce:-
- Manganese
- Sediment
- Bacteria
- Lead
After some routine testing, fluoride, which hadnt been present at the time of the original install, was found to be slightly over the legal limit. Ground water can change over time, this is why we recommend regular testing. A Reverse Osmosis system was installed to reduce the fluoride levels, then blended back with the filtered water to give a flow required by the customer.
The updated system comprises of:-
- A variable speed booster pump
- Sediment Reduction
- Ion Exchange
- Lead reducing carbon
- UV-PRO 1
- Pre-filter
- 500 litre tank
- Reverse Osmosis (RO) Unit
pH Correction
Water in which the pH is below 7 is acidic. Acidic water accelerates corrosion in pipe work, It can also cause staining on fittings in baths, sinks and other appliances. Acidic water can leave a distinctive ‘metallic’ taste when drunk.
Water Testing
The starting point for any water treatment design is a representative water analysis that is complete and accurate. Using a UKAS Accredited Laboratory. Two of our engineers have undergone formal training and are now certified to carry out water sampling to UKAS accredited standards.
